Not only will the winner of the 2024 Masters earn the coveted green jacket, they'll take home a record pay day too.
Taking first place at the Masters is one of the greatest achievements a professional golfers can get, and it'll be another year of the total amount of money given out increasing.
The payout for winning first place will reach another high, as the Augusta National Golf Club announced the purse for the Masters is $20 million. It's an increase from $18 million in 2023 and $15 million in 2022. With more money being handed out, this year's winner of the Masters will take home the highest winnings in its storied history.
How much money does the 2024 Masters winner get?
The winner of the 2024 Masters will received $3.6 million. It's up from the $3.24 million Jon Rahm won last year, and in 2022, Scottie Scheffler took home $2.7 million.
The winner has earned at least $1 million ever since 2001, and this will be the second time first-place gets at least $3 million. It's huge jump from the first ever Masters, when Horton Smith took home a measly $1,5000 in 1934.
