Kelly Clarkson is opening up about a health diagnosis that prompted her to make some life adjustments.
On Monday's episode of her namesake talk show, guest Kevin James commented that the "Since U Been Gone" singer is "looking great."
"Well, I was told I was pre-diabetic," the host revealed, adding that she "wasn't shocked" because she was "a tiny bit overweight."
Clarkson, 41, said doctors told her she was "on the borderline" of a diabetes diagnosis, but waited another two years before she took preventative measures.
Later in the segment, she said: "There's a huge difference between being in shape and losing weight — and I am the latter."
"Prediabetes is a serious health condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough yet to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes," according to the CDC. Over one in three American adults are prediabetic, but roughly only 80% of those people are aware, the agency states.
Weight loss, regular physical activity and a balanced diet are all preventative measures to curb type 2 diabetes.
In January, Clarkson opened up about the lifestyle changes she implemented to lose weight and how her kids River Rose, 9, and Remington Alexander, 7, helped her.
"We go walk the dogs a few times at the park. We'll go for ice cream because my daughter will wear me down. We'll go make slime and we go to the museum," she told People last month.

The "American Idol" alum, who moved her family from Los Angeles to New York City last year, added that "walking in the city is quite the workout" and she also does infrared sauna treatment.
"I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor — a couple years I didn’t," Clarkson told the outlet.
As far as food, she sticks to a high-protein diet. "I'm a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!" she said.
